It was an honour to work on this Elicit Pictures/BFI/Film4 project . It’s such an extraordinary performance by Jo Martin as Bev, a mother faced with overwhelming evidence of her son’s guilt in a violent crime, but determined to cling onto her belief in his innocence.

The haunting cellow you can hear throughout is performed by my long term collaborator and friend Jo Silverston. I think this is the sixth time Jo and I have worked on a project together, spanning a twenty year friendship, working on albums, live projects, theatre and film. Mai Jeruom is one of my proudest projects with her.
